Summer Bronze Makeup14:58
Reds and mauves are usually my got to colors for the fall. But since I've been trying out Zoeva Mixed Metals palette, I've fallen in love with bronzed browns and coppery reds. I figured I can use these colors for a subtle summer bronzed look. Paired with shiny mauve lips, this looks very warm and sultry for those hot summer days, or even better, nights.
On my eyes I started with the usual matte beige base. Then I used matte light brown and matte redish brown to define the crease. In the outer corner I also mixed in a tiny bit of dark matte brown shade. I used bronzed brown shade on the outer corner and the inner corner of my eye and connected them in the center of the crease. On the center of the lid I added copper red shade to give them some dimension and add warmth.
I used the same shades around lower lash line. In the inner corner I used shimmery beige shade. For eyeliner I used redish based brown gel liner to look a bit softer and not as harsh. I winged it out a bit. Then I added mascara and three pairs of individual lashes only on the outer corners to make my lashes look a bit flared out and longer at the outer corners. It's amazing how few pairs of individual lashes can bring the look to another level. Especially if you're eyelashes are not impressive on their own.
I did my usual foundation, concealer and powder routine. But before I powdered I also used a bit of matte cream contour and highlight to give a slight bit of dimension to the face. No bronzed look can be done without bronzer and I definitely used a lot of it all around my outer edges and on the cheeks and nose as well. I used champagne gold highlighter on tops of cheeks, nose, brow arch and cupid's bow. For blush I went with dirty mauve shade to compliment my redish eye color and mauve lips.
On my lips I firstly used mauve purple and red lipstick mixed together as a stain and then I went over it with shimmery pink lip gloss with golden shimmer to make it ultra warm and shiny.
In the evening sunset I played with curtains and took some additional photos. A bit less boring than usual.
There is nothing I like more for summer than a good bronzed makeup look. I mostly pair them with my usual and boring nude peachy lipsticks, but I find this redish mauve combination rather interesting and am probably gonna use a lot this summer. Bronzer is my absolute must have for every summer makeup look. What is your product that you can't live without in summer time?
