Review: Avon Advance Techniques Supreme Oils (Shampoo, Conditioner, Duo Treatment Spray) + Giveaway

Hey Beauties!

Today is a review of a brand new hair line from Avon. It's called Advance Technique Supreme Oils. It contains 5 oils and in the range are shampoo, conditioner, mask and duo treatment spray oil. I have a giveaway waiting for you at the end of this post ;).

Supreme Oils line contains 5 oils. Those are macadamia oil, camellia seeds oil, almond oil, grape seed oil and marula oil. The line promises to make your hair smoother, softer, stronger and shinier.

Shampoo

Shampoo comes in a black matte plastic bottle. It costs 2.90€ (full price 4.50€) and you get 250 ml of product.

Here is the ingredients list.

Shampoo has a muted yellow transparent color. It's fairly thin and creamy. Pretty normal consistency. It leathers really nicely and I find that small amount goes a long way. It makes my hair feel pretty soft, but I do need to use conditioner afterwards. It doesn't strip down the hair, like some drugstore shampoos do, so I think that's good for dry hair.

Conditioner

Conditioner also comes in a black plastic matte packaging. It also costs 2.90€ (full price 4.50€) and you get 250 ml of it.

Here is the ingredients list.

Conditioner has pretty lightweight consistency. It is not thin, neither thick. Somewhere in between. I actually just realized after editing photos that it has gold shimmer in it. What?!You know, I think it was L'Oreal, who also had glitter conditioner. It came with some hair color, that I was using in the past. I was so fascinated by the shimmer in it, that I didn't want to use it up and have been saving it for a long time. So, now you know. Glitter shimmer, if you like that kind of stuff ;). It doesn't stay on the hair, just to be clear.

The conditioner feels very smooth and silk like. It actually feels like a silicon conditioner. It's a really nice conditioner for the price. I think the oils in it are the ones that make the hair feel moisturized and soft.

Duo Treatment Spray

Duo Treatment Spray comes in a transparent plastic bottle. It costs 3.90€ (full price 7.50€) and you get 100 ml of it.

It's called a duo treatment, because it has two liquids which are separated. Bottom layer seems to be oil and top layer is some sort of a light liquid.

You need to shake the bottle before using it, so you combine two liquids.

Here is the ingredients list.

Spray creates a very fine mist and you can control the amount by how hard you press on it.

Spray feels like a diluted oil. It's very liquid but also greasy. I would think that you can overdo this product on your hair. I actually sprayed a lot of it on my hair - too much, and the hair looked greasy. However...the next day the hair looked absolutely normal. That tells you how dry my hair is. It actually soaked up the oil through the night, even though it looked like I overdid it before. So just be aware, a little goes a long way. If you use it moderately it works great. Makes the hair feel nourished. Don't expect smoothness which silicons would give you. I also don't think this is for those who want to treat damaged hair. It's more for moisturizing dry or normal hair.

All the products from this line have a pretty similar smell. To me the smell is somewhat oriental and nutty. I guess it goes with the theme of hair oils. It's a specific smell, to put it that way. I mostly have fruity smelly hair products, so these are exception.

I have to say, when you use all these products combined, they really work nicely. My hair is left moisturized and soft. It won't tamed the frizz, but it will nourish my hair. Avon says that this line is for all hair types. I kind of agree. I have greasy roots and am always afraid of using oil shampoos. This one makes my hair moisturized, yet not greasy at all. I think the line is great for dry and normal hair. Maybe even oily hair can get along with it. My roots don't seem to mind it. It's not for treating damaged hair, except if you include moisturizing them.

For a really affordable price, those products have pleasantly surprised me. If you read my blog, you know I'm a firm believer in high end products for my hair. This line just proved me that you can get pretty good products for a lot lower price. Don't be expecting Joico or Kerastase level, but a really good level, if not one of the best, from a drugstore kind of range.

As a little proof, here are photos of my hair right after I used all of these products and blow dried my hair.

I ordered this duo treatment oil and after that Avon sent me shampoo, conditioner and another duo treatment spray. Thank you Avon ;). Since I know I'll be using this oil for a while, I decided to give one away. I'm sorry, the giveaway is only for Slovenian readers, because of the postage costs. All you need to do is fill in Rafflecopter fields.

  4. Sounds promising :D Tole olje mi zveni zelo podobno Orofluido Sahari, čeprav tale alkohol na tretjem mestu ni ravno idealno. Prekrasne lase imaš, tukaj izgledajo zelo zdravo in barva je super :)

    1. Je precej bolj mastno kot tisto Moroccan olje iz Avona. Sahare pa nimam tako, da bi težko primerjala. Ja alkohol res ni najboljši, kjer koli. Hvala:)). Zdaj sem jih res veliko porezala:).

    1. It doesn't say on the product, but I use it on wet hair. I find it can be a bit too greasy on dry hair.

  6. There are a lot of great benefits to using oil on the hair. However, it could have a drying effect on my hair if I use too much of it. And I try to avoid using it during the summer. The summer heat will bake the coconut oil into my hair. If I do use it, I dilute it with another oil. I do use it on my skin everyday. It makes my skin look amazing.

    1. I think it's better if I apply oil on wet hair. I feel like a lock some of the hydration in. On the face oils are amazing. Especially when you find the right ones for your skin type.
